SHSS Faculty and Student Participate in Equine Therapy Training

Shelley Green, Ph.D., faculty in the Department of Family Therapy (DFT) in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS) and Olivia Schlapfer, M.S., doctoral student in DFT, attended an equine therapy training event in Jacksonville, Fla., on Jan. 22-25, 2010. The training was sponsored by the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA).

Green and Schlapfer are currently collaborating with the South Florida Veterans' Multi-Purpose Center in Davie to provide equine-assisted psychotherapy to the veteran and civilian populations.
